Luciano Carino
Operations & Finance Chair - Member IEEE
Luciano Carino, a tenured professor at CEFET/RJ, has extensive experience in electrical engineering and technology infrastructure project management, having worked for over 30 years in academia and innovation. He holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ and is a leading figure in the planning and execution of complex projects, budgeting, resource management, and financial management at large institutions. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, coordinated acquisition processes, system implementation, and the operation of technology centers. An active member of the IEEE, he contributes to the training of innovative professionals and to strengthening the integration between academia, the market, and society.
João Lucas

An electrical engineer from UFJF with a concentration in Telecommunications, he works as a professor and coordinator of science, computer science, and robotics laboratories. Passionate about innovation, humanitarian technology, and education, he has experience in various sectors, including industry, energy, agribusiness, and technology. An IEEE volunteer since 2017, he has led educational and humanitarian projects, chaired the UFJF Student Branch, represented Minas Gerais, and organized notable events. Recognized with national and international IEEE awards, he currently serves on the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies global committee and leads member and Young Professionals development initiatives in Minas Gerais.


Thomas Moreira Campello
Technical Program & Academic Relations Lead – AI Pioneer Summit – Member IEEE
Electrical engineer from UFF with an emphasis on Power Systems, MSc from COPPE/UFRJ and currently a PhD candidate at the same institution; professor at CEFET/RJ. IEEE volunteer since 2013, he has led Student Branches, Young Professionals, and the Rio de Janeiro Section, and is now President of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Professional Chapter. He has headed internationally recognized technical and humanitarian projects, such as the award-winning “Engineers Assisting Ventilator Maintenance” (2020), and organized several high-impact IEEE events nationwide, including RNRs, EV Way, and IEEEoT.
Gabrielle Silva
Technology Partnerships Specialist IEEE Rio Section Chair – AI Pioneer Summit – Member IEEE 2
Gabrielle Silva is a Technology Partnerships Specialist at TIM Brasil (Innovation by TIM LAB). An Electrical Engineer (UERJ) with an MBA in AI, Data Science & Big Data (PUC-RS), she has 12+ years of experience connecting industry and academia to drive R&D and new business. At IEEE, she chairs the Rio de Janeiro Section, was Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE)-RJ (2020-2021), and served on the Industry Engagement, Educational Activities, and WIE committees for Region 9 (2022-2024). She received an Honorable Mention in the IEEE Larry K. Wilson Award (2019) for student leadership at IEEE UERJ and the Rio Section.

Sophia Alves
Web Platform Coordinator & Media Producer – AI Pioneer Summit – Student Member IEEE
Sophia Alves is a high school student with an excellent academic record and medals in international science competitions, such as the OBA. A technology, artificial intelligence, and engineering enthusiast, she completed MITx/edX courses in Physics and "Introduction to Aerospace Engineering," dedicating herself to advanced studies to earn a place at MIT, with ITA as a national reference. She is currently pursuing high-impact projects to strengthen her portfolio and preparing for the SAT. As a student member of IEEE, she collaborates on the AI Pioneer Summit as a web designer, media producer, and general support for the event organization.
